DRAFT RESULTS - Closed Gym League: Season 3
Season 4 of the Closed Gym League kicked off January 18th with an exciting and unpredictable draft. The first few rounds went pretty much as expected, but as teams started to fill size and chemistry needs it became
very interesting. Jake Browarski called during the draft and after hearing some rude comments made by a couple of GMs attempted to withdraw himself from consideration. Unexpectedly, Gunnar Stapp tried to draft Busateri
until it was pointed out to him that Mike Busateri was a fellow GM seated two chairs to his right. In the boldest move of the night, General Manager Josh Emer tried to trade himself, but terms could not be agreed upon. Andy Duncan
used strategery by claiming a player was out of shape and then immediately selecting him on his next pick. Pichler came away with a nice squad although he did have problems remembering who guys were, including people who were on
his teams in the past. I believe Frey summed up the draft the best by saying, "At least as a GM I get to control who I'm playing with. And do you know what that means? I don't have to play with that chucker Royten again."
It is impossible to guess who had the best draft night, but that's why they play the games.
