DRAFT RESULTS - Closed Gym League: Season 6
Season 6 of the Closed Gym League kicked off September 22nd with yet another exciting and unpredictable draft. Draft order was selected through a lottery where each player was given a certain percentage of "ping pong balls" based on their Power Ranking (points+rebounds+assists).
For the second straight season Scott Frey had the luck of the draw garnering the #1 pick, which he used to select former player of the year in Denmark Joshua Metzger. Landisch and Melka came next at #2 and #3 before Royce Malkowski decided to keep it in the family
by selecting his brother Gareth. Chris Bauer took a chance by selecting a rookie, Patrick Duffy, in the five slot so Pat has to live up to the hype from Landisch. My personal opinion is that Landisch just wanted another lefty in the league. Craig Machut, Tony Fisher, and the
ageless wonder Steve Showalter rounded out the first round. It was family night for the Canada family and DC would simply tell his 3-year-old son to point at a name for each selection. The biggest surprise came when Royce traded Josh Emer to Bauer for Schipp and a case of beer.
It's impossible to guess who had the best draft night, but that's why they play the games.
