Draft Results - CGL9
Season 9 of the Closed Gym League kicked off September 12th with yet another exciting and unpredictable draft. Draft order was selected through a lottery where each player was given a certain percentage of "ping pong balls" based on their Power Ranking (points+rebounds+assists).
Based on that order GMs then selected the position they would like to start their draft. Steve Kohl ended up with the #1 overall pick, which he used to select perennial standout Scott Meerstein out of UW-Lacrosse. Frey and Melka made their choices at #2 and #3 selecting Derrick Canada and Chritian Lindberg respectively. Lindberg was later
traded to Josh Metzger for his #7 pick, Ryan Goodno. Steve Showalter and rookie Matt West came in next to round out the top 5.
It seemed as though everyone walked away from the draft room relatively pleased with their squads, but you never know until after those first couple of games who has the squad to beat.
