CGL12 Awards
 |
Most Valuable Player- "When your team puts together a season like this with all the unselfish play and hard work it's hard to accept an individual award for the accomplishments of a group. I will, however, accept the award because the small shrine being built at my home that it will rest atop is nearly complete." |
 |
Rookie of the Year- "I'd like to thank all of the fans that voted for me for this award and helped to set a new attendance record of 5 people per game." |
 |
GM of the Year- The commissioner didn't feel like counting how many titles Dan and Matt have won so it will be left unreported. (Especially since the commissioner is still title-less.)"Being the GM of a team brings with it a lot of pressure. I mean, sending out an email every week to see if the other guys are going to show up is a pretty stressful situation in which to put yourself. What if I were to send them the wrong time or the wrong location or even the wrong day? Without me there would be
6 players simply wandering around aimlessly." |
 |
Walton's Words of Wisdom "Come on, that was no foul! It may be a violation of all the basic rules of human decency, but it's not a foul." |
*All-Stars were voted team MVPs by their teammates.
*All-CGL Players received MVP votes.

The Legend of the Closed Gym
It's been said that back in the late 80's-early 90's, a group of 10 or more men
would gather together in the name of basketball. These men were asked to
come to these so-called Open Gyms because they 1) were reliable, 2) were
competitive, 3) would cause no arguments, and 4) loved to play. Because
phone calls were placed to specific individuals on an invitation only
basis, a significant fact was brought to the operator's attention: "Hey,
these aren't Open Gyms." And thus the Closed Gyms were born.
