CGL6 Awards
Metz Most Valuable Player- Josh Metzger helped his team earn the CGL6 title by leading the league in scoring and rebounding as well as finishing in the Top 10 in assists. "We just had a balanced attack this season. Well, Endres and Wolter were a little imbalanced, but our chemistry was phenomenal. I'm proud of the way we played and I'm glad they let me shoot a lot."
Frey GM of the Year- Scott Frey chose to draft all grizzled CGL veterans for his CGL6 squad and it worked out perfectly for him. Metzger was the main cog for Pichler Painting, but everyone else filled their roles well and contributed to the championship. "I'm sorry Aurora SMI, but you are The Biggest Loser."
Stein Rookie of the Year- Scott Meerstein turned into a major contributor on the 2nd best team in the league averaging 21.8 points and 11.8 rebounds a game for Aurora SMI. "I'd just like to mention Hischke, Bowman, Janicki and Kuphall as key elements to my success as well as my team's. I also want to mention Landisch and Novotny so that all of my teammates are listed and can feel good about themselves."
Gareth Not Quite Rookie of the Year- Gareth Malkowski averaged 29.3 points, 9.44 rebounds and 4.00 assists a game for Thrivent Financial. He also set CGL season records for threes attempted (142) and made (59) while shooting 42% from behind the arc. Because the commissioner values winning above all else Gareth failed to qualify for official ROTY status. "That's a bunch of crap! I should be eligible simply based on the fact that I launched 16 threes a game!"
Emer Most Improved Player- The numbers speak for themselves. Emer's career averages before CGL6: 6.9 pts, 3.1 reb, and 2.3 assists. CGL6: 22.0, 7.1, 4.00. Emer is still the only player to NEVER have missed a CGL game. 66 for 66!
Bill Video Clip of the Week
"You haven't seen this video footage yet? Terrible! What were you thinking? This clip has the creativity, the electricity, the showmanship. Watch it now big man, watch it now!

Iron Unkind

Bol Double D Resurfacing - 30/110 FGA, 11/46 3FGA - There was a cute statkeeper that kept distracting us throughout the game. I think his name was Zens or something. Ryan Schipp - 0/10 FG, 1 point - I think not being a Lutheran really hurts me when I'm playing in a Lutheran establishment. I mean come on, hit a shot!.

The Legend of the Closed Gym
It's been said that back in the late 80's-early 90's, a group of 10 or more men would gather together in the name of basketball. These men were asked to come to these so-called Open Gyms because they 1) were reliable, 2) were competitive, 3) would cause no arguments, and 4) loved to play. Because phone calls were placed to specific individuals on an invitation only basis, a significant fact was brought to the operator's attention: "Hey, these aren't Open Gyms." And thus the Closed Gyms were born.
